Chapel Offerings for 2016-17

The students and staff of St. Peter Lutheran School are excited to announce how our weekly chapel offerings will be distributed. The members of the congregation and friends of our school are also welcome to give to the Lord in behalf of these causes.

August & September
Unity Lutheran School
This school located in East St. Louis is a mission of the Southern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Nearly all of the children at this school need financial help and support to be able to receive a Christian education that allows them to hear the good news of Jesus every day

October
Bethesda
This is an organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to serve the needs of the mentally and physically disabled. The number one goal there is plant the love of Jesus in the hearts of these people so that they too can inherit the gift of eternal life.

November
LCMS Armed Forces
This is a mission of the synod to provide materials for Lutheran chaplains who serve our men and women in the armed forces. Our offerings would be used to connect Jesus to a soldier, airman, or marine

December
Fayette County Caring & Sharing
During this month our offerings will be monetary or food pantry items. An itemized list will be available a week before December. Items will be distributed to those in need during the week before Christmas.

January
Lutherans for Life
This organization is very active in promoting the gift of life as God uniquely created it. A special emphasis will be extended to those unborn, to those mentally or physically challenged, and to those in their last years of life. Offerings would go toward promoting the ministry that life as God created be sanctified.

February
Answers in Genesis
This organization promotes a Biblical view of our world proclaiming that God created the universe as it states in Genesis 1:1. We as God’s children are specially designed and created only by His almighty power. We are not a result of some evolutionary chance that would ultimately deny God of His wisdom and superior intelligence.

March
Camp CILCA
During this month our offerings will be used to sponsor children to attend Camp CILCA. This is an outdoor ministry serving the families of Central Illinois with the mission of making disciples. CILCA stands for Central Illinois Lutheran Camping Association.

April
LCMS World Relief
When disaster strikes, this organization is quick to offer relief and support to whoever and wherever needed. Our offerings would go directly to the need.

May
Students Choice
The students will vote on one place where we can offer our monetary and prayer support. This selected cause or place will be announced in April.
